Bauhaus-Gespräche
Bernd Schmutz has been invited by Prof. Jörg Springer for a lecture and talk at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar to discuss the context of recent projects as part of the series “Bauhaus-Gespräche”. The event will be held at Oberlichtsaal, on 6th November 2019 at 18.00.

Hopkins in the City
‘Hopkins in the City’ has now been launched. Edited by Adam Caruso and Helen Thomas, it reflects Michael Hopkins and Partner’s work, comprising essays by the editors and building studies including the one by Bernd Schmutz on Nottingham’s Inland Revenue Centre as well as those on other projects by Reem Almannai, Florian Summa, Victoria Easton and Paul Vermeulen, accompanied by new drawings and photography from Hélène Binet. Published by gta Verlag.

Alternative Histories in Brussels
Our model for ‘Alternative Histories’, an exhibition co-curated by Jantje Engels and Marius Grootveld in collaboration with Drawing Matter and the Architecture Foundation in London, will now be on display at CIVA in Brussels from 6-29 September. To coincide with the opening on 6th September, a new book accompanying the show will be released and is available here. It will comprise an essay by Marius Grootveld and new photography of all 85 models by Thomas Adank and Guus Kaandorp, alongside the original drawings held at the UK-based archive of Drawing Matter.

Alter Wall
We have been shortlisted for an invited competition to develop a mixed-use project for a large site in the centre of Hamburg, along Alter Wall. The project will be carried out in collaboration with Adam Khan Architects from London and comprise hotel, cultural use, offices, retail and housing.

Leibniz Universität Hannover lecture
Bernd Schmutz has been invited by the Faculty of Architecture and Landscape at Leibniz University in Hannover to hold a lecture on the 25th June at 18.00, titled “nach der Moderne, vor der Moderne“.
