Stadträume bauen

We are pleased that our building for Rödingsmarkt in Hamburg with a new project of offices and housing has been featured as part of the publication ‘Hamburg – Stadträume bauen. Positionen, Pläne, Projekte’. The book by Olaf Bartels and ‘Behörde für Stadtentwicklung und Wohnen’ compiles recent projects and new perspectives for various areas of the city. It is now available from Jovis publishers.

Dublin exhibition

Our contribution for ‘Alternative Histories’ has now moved to Dublin and is on display at the Irish Architectural Archive from 02 December 2020 to 26th February 2021. The exhibition, curated by Jantje Engels and Marius Grootveld in collaboration with Drawing Matter and the Architecture Foundation has been installed in the elegant Georgian rooms and assembles a unique international group of architects.

Schule Dresden

Bernd Schmutz will be guest critic for final presentations at Prof. Christina Köchling’s unit at Technische Universität Dresden, on the topic of schools. The unit examines how the existing ‘Dresden Type’ which is spread around the city can be transformed and which new typologies can add to the landscape of schools as places for learning and gathering.

London Met

Bernd Schmutz will be guest critic at the final crit of Peter St John’s Unit 12, at the The Cass, Faculty of Architecture at London Metropolitan University. The unit has been looking at the topic of transformation, applied with the design of an architecture school at its new location.

Heritage-listed

We are delighted and proud that the buildings in Marxdorf, where we carried out careful repair works for stucco, new roofs and facade restorations, have now been listed by Schleswig-Holstein’s heritage committee as a cultural monument.  The late-classical farmhouse and two large barns have been built in 1853.
