Guest critic and lecture TU München

Bernd Schmutz has been invited as a guest critic for the final reviews at the chair of Prof. Dietrich Fink at the Technical University in Munich on the topic of “Wohnhochhaus Leipzig”. He will also give a lecture titled “Neoliberty” to show a selection of the practice’s projects in the context of the research and publication carried out on Turin.

An Atlas of Commoning

In collaboration with Frank Joachim Wössner, Eva-Maria Stadelmann and Heimann + Schwantes for the graphic design we have won the invited competition launched and curated by ifa- Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen and Arch+ to design the exhibition design for “An Atlas of Commoning”, a display touring worldwide over 10 years to show projects and art as an archive reflecting new relationships between individuals, collective and communities. The first display will open 22nd June 2018 in Berlin.

Architekturführer Deutschland 2018

As the only building in Schleswig-Holstein and north of Hamburg the storage in Marxdorf has been published in this year’s guide book for architecture in Germany, ‘Architekturführer Deutschland 2018’ by Yorck Förster, Christina Gräwe and Peter Cachola Schmal at DOM publishers. The countryside garage sits within a richly varied series of large and small, urban and rural buildings, a.o. Bremer Landesbank by Caruso St John Architects.

Actopolis at AzW

The exhibition design for ‘Actopolis – Die Kunst zu Handeln’ has now moved to Vienna where it is shown at ‘Architekturzentrum Wien‘. Since 2015 more than 70 participants from 7 cities have contributed to the project whose in-situ-interventions are shown on the curving display panels and as part of a catalogue designed by NODE. Next stops for the touring exhibition are the School of Fine Arts in Athens and Izmir in Turkey.

DAM Prize 2018

We are very pleased that the storage building in Marxdorf has been shortlisted as one of 100 buildings in Germany for the 2018-prize awarded by ‘Deutsches Architekturmuseum’ in Frankfurt.
