London Met
Bernd Schmutz will be guest critic at the final crit of Peter St John’s Unit 12, at the The Cass, Faculty of Architecture at London Metropolitan University. The unit has been looking at the topic of transformation, applied with the design of an architecture school at its new location.

Heritage-listed
We are delighted and proud that the buildings in Marxdorf, where we carried out careful repair works for stucco, new roofs and facade restorations, have now been listed by Schleswig-Holstein’s heritage committee as a cultural monument. The late-classical farmhouse and two large barns have been built in 1853.

Rödingsmarkt
We have been appointed to develop proposals for Rödingsmarkt and its adjacent block, in order to bring mixed-use typologies of retail, offices and housing into the centre of Hamburg, making a connection to the old harbour.

Große Häuser Leipzig
Bernd Schmutz has been invited by Prof. Springer from Bauhaus University Weimar to join this semester’s final presentation as a guest critic. The work of the students is focused on the topic of large houses making a new piece of city in Leipzig on the former grounds of derelict train tracks.

Professur Hannover
Bernd Schmutz will be teaching as professor for the following two semesters at Leibniz Universität in Hannover, at the Faculty of Design and Architecture, starting in spring 2020. He will be running the department for Design and Architecture Theory, with design units both for the bachelor and master programmes as well as diploma.
