Venice 'Pasticcio'

Group show with 7 contemporary architects
Biennale di Venezia, Venice
With Caruso St John Architects
Display table donated by Goppion, Milan

Under David Chipperfield’s overarching Biennale theme ‘Common Ground’ the exhibition curated by Caruso St John Architects brings together 7 architects with a selection of projects from different countries: Bovenbouw/Antwerp, Hild und K/Munich, Knapkiewicz Fickert/Zurich, Peter Märkli/Zurich, Hermann Czech/Vienna, Biq/Rotterdam and Caruso St John/London. The eighth architect, Sir John Soane, complements the group with illustrations showing his stone tower ‘Pasticcio’ from one of the courtyards in his house and museum at Lincoln’s Inn Fields in London which gave the title for the show. The drawings and photos are displayed on the walls of a painted interior and on a long table for models and books of working drawings designed specifically for the show.
