Following an extensive consultation and design research led by Adam Khan Architects the project translates the needs of the local residents and Haredi community into a wide range of highly flexible family homes at different scales.
The 132 apartments have been arranged as an ensemble of four carefully sized buildings facing the head of Clapton Common Park with a suite of characterful fronts which echo the park with tall, veranda-like facades.
Much care has been given to the spaces between the buildings in order to connect the park with the scheme’s shared courtyards and communal entrances across subtly nuanced green threshoulds between public and private, but also to combine a pleasant, accessible approach for all residents with the potential for social encounters and play.
